BLACK LOTUS MMA TRAINING GUIDELINES
HYGIENE
Good hygiene is essential in combat sports and helps create a clean, safe training environment for everyone at Black Lotus MMA.
Please make sure to:
Arrive with clean training clothes and equipment
Wash rashguards, shorts, gloves, shin guards, and hand wraps regularly
Keep fingernails and toenails short and clean
Cover any cuts or abrasions before training
Avoid training if you suspect a contagious skin condition
Bring your own towel and water bottle
Shower promptly after training when possible
No Street Shoes Inside the Gym
Street shoes are not permitted anywhere inside Black Lotus MMA.
Please remove your shoes upon entering the gym and use clean sandals/flip-flops when moving around off the mats.
CONDUCT
At Black Lotus MMA, we aim to build a respectful, disciplined, and welcoming training environment.
All members and visitors are expected to:
Respect coaches, staff, and training partners
Follow instructions given by coaches
Train responsibly and with control
Help maintain a positive atmosphere in the gym
Respect all levels of experience, from beginners to competitors
Avoid dangerous, reckless, or aggressive behavior
Ego has no place in training.
Progress comes through consistency, discipline, and respect for the team around you.
Black Lotus MMA reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation in cases of inappropriate or unsafe behavior.
PREPARATION
To get the most out of your training sessions, please arrive prepared.
Depending on the class, you may need:
Rashguard or appropriate sportswear
MMA or boxing gloves
Shin guards
Mouthguard
Towel
Water bottle
Clean sandals/slides
Before class, please:
Arrive 10 minutes early
Remove jewelry or accessories before training
Stay hydrated
Inform coaches of any injury or medical condition
If you are new and do not yet have all the required equipment, we may be able to help you for your first session.
BEGINNER INFO
Beginners are welcome at Black Lotus MMA.
You do not need previous experience in MMA, BJJ, boxing, or martial arts to start training.
Our goal is to provide a structured and supportive environment where members can progress at their own pace.
What to Expect
Your first sessions may include:
Basic striking techniques
Movement and footwork
Grappling fundamentals
Conditioning drills
Partner exercises
Sparring is always supervised and participation is voluntary.
The focus is on learning, progression, discipline, and long-term development — not on proving yourself.
Everyone starts somewhere, and consistency matters more than experience.
